Professionals in Residence

The Professionals in Residence Program (PIR) provides professionals from all fields with an opportunity to understand the nature and treatment of addiction through a unique educational experience.  The week long program is experiential in nature, allowing the participant to spend the majority of their time immersed in the same activities as the patients or family members.  In addition, there are supplemental presentations also provided to augment their understanding of the disease of addiction.

There are three different five-day programs that Professionals can attend:

Inpatient PIR Program
Professionals in this program participate in the primary residential treatment halls and receive a deeper understanding of the treatment process and planning through extended involvement with the patients and staff.  They participate in small group therapy, patient lectures, activities, and meals.  Professionals also have an opportunity to observe a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment planning.
Family PIR Program Professionals in this program participate with family members and friends of patients to understand the impact alcoholism or drug addiction can have on the non-addicted family members.  Professionals participate with family members in lectures, group therapy, meals, activities, and spend time in staff treatment planning sessions.
Residential Day Treatment PIR Program Professionals in this program participate with patients who are in long term treatment care.  They join patients for small group therapy, patient lectures, activities, and meals, as well as spend time in staff treatment planning sessions.

Continuing Education Hours are available for nurses, MFT’s, LCSW’s, and certified addiction counselors.
