Fitness

We approach addiction treatment holistically.  Exercise and physical fitness are essential parts of our treatment process.   Therefore, all patients are required to attend fitness daily while in treatment.

Our Fitness Counselors are integral members of the multi-disciplinary team working with each patient.  Every patient works with the medical and Fitness staff to make sure they have an appropriate level of physical activity as they progress in treatment.

  • Certified personal fitness staff is always present during fitness time at both the gym and the pool.  The staff has a wide range of knowledge available in the gym/pool for training and coaching.

Each patient can choose on a daily basis whether they would like to swim in our outdoor pool, work out with weights in our state of the art fitness center, or exercise on one of the many available cardio machines.

  • Exercise classes are offered throughout the week to include aquatic aerobics, body toning and conditioning, stretching/yoga and meditation classes.

Each day patients can choose to work out either in the gym or at the pool.

Swimming Pool

  • There is a fully equipped cardiovascular gym including treadmills, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, ellipticals, Stairmasters, and rowers.
  • The gym includes a weight room with a variety of equipment including smith machines, cable cross over machines, free weight bench presses with a large selection of free weights, numerous individualized strength machines and ab benches.

Appropriate attire is required to participate in fitness.

Fitness Center

  • Tennis shoes are required for working out in the gym.
  • Tee-shirts, shorts, exercise sweats and swimsuits for the other attire.
  • Personal goggles are recommended for those who enjoy swimming laps.  Also, pool exercise shoes may be a good idea for those participating in pool aerobics.
Massages are available for patients on Sundays for an additional charge.
