Welcome to Betty Ford Colorado Children's Program!
When addiction happens in a family everyone is affected, including the children. Often help is available to the addicted person, perhaps the spouse or significant other, their parents may even get involved in the recovery process. However, children and their needs may be overlooked. We believe addiction is a family disease. So whether or not the addicted person gets help; the family, including the children, may get-and deserve-the help and tools they need to be healthy.
With this in mind, the Colorado Children’s program had its first group May 1st, 2003 thanks to the efforts of the Advisory Board – consisting of local Betty Ford Alum and others interested in helping children throughout the State of Colorado. We believe in strong partnerships. The Children’s Program works with numerous agencies, treatment programs, professional organizations and therapists throughout Colorado to help create a network of support for children who love someone addicted to alcohol or other drugs.
We look forward to supporting you and your family on the journey towards recovery.
