Intervention

An intervention is a structured and caring process facilitated by a trained professional who guides a meeting among family members, friends and the prospective patient.  The process gently interrupts the negative spiral of untreated alcoholism and other drug addiction.

The Betty Ford Center works with a number of Interventionists. For more information, please call toll free:

Intervention Process:

  1. Call Betty Ford Center and speak with one of our Intervention Specialists.  They will help put you in contact with an Interventionist that best fits your need.

  2. The interventionist will talk to the people involved in the intervention, schedule a time for the intervention to take place and make arrangements for the patient to be admitted to treatment immediately following the intervention.

  3. As part of the intervention process, the Interventionist will ask a family member and/or a friend to call the Admissions Department or to complete an Intervention Application in order to provide necessary patient information prior to admission.
