Intervention
An intervention is a structured and caring process facilitated by a trained professional who guides a meeting among family members, friends and the prospective patient. The process gently interrupts the negative spiral of untreated alcoholism and other drug addiction.
The Betty Ford Center works with a number of Interventionists. For more information, please call toll free:

Intervention Process:
- Call Betty Ford Center and speak with one of our Intervention Specialists. They will help put you in contact with an Interventionist that best fits your need.
- The interventionist will talk to the people involved in the intervention, schedule a time for the intervention to take place and make arrangements for the patient to be admitted to treatment immediately following the intervention.
- As part of the intervention process, the Interventionist will ask a family member and/or a friend to call the Admissions Department or to complete an Intervention Application in order to provide necessary patient information prior to admission.
