Licensed Professional
It has been long known that The Licensed Professional (Healthcare Professionals, Attorneys and Pilots) presents a formidable challenge in both the evaluation and treatment process. Impairment is defined as an inability to provide safe and appropriate treatment, skills or services to a patient, client or passenger due to substance use such as drugs or alcohol or mental or physical health issues. Once confronted, the Licensed Professional is often shrouded in the defensive posture of malignant denial, shame and resistance to intervention. The 90 day program has proven to provide outstanding long term results when combined with aftercare monitoring of the progressive recovery process.
This treatment model is the gold standard for this population, providing adequate time to confront denial, accept consequences and heal relationships. An early commitment to the 90 day program eliminates the bargaining, negotiation and sense of special entitlement which often handicaps the acceptance which so greatly assists the early stages of recovery. The Licensed Professional who completes this program will embrace the principle of humility and take the responsibility necessary to return to joyous personal and professional life.
Betty Ford Center does not communicate directly with insurance companies. Upon discharge, all patients receive a courtesy bill. Please contact your insurance company for more reimbursement information.
